Like you, we stand by Israel as it defends itself from terrorism. Standing by and with Israel is not new for Capital Camps, and is in fact part of our mission and deeply aligned with our values. We believe that making connections between our domestic participants and our Israeli campers and staff is a critical part of the work we do.

In times of tragedy and sadness, we know that our community is interested in how they can help and make a difference. Immediately after the attacks began, we rolled out a form for our community to provide messages of support to our extended camp family in Israel. We shared the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s appeal for emergency funding to support Israel. We also highlighted our partner, the FIDF, and the incredible work they do. We hear from their participants each summer about the horrors of losing a family member in conflict and we know that the FIDF is making a real difference in the lives of bereaved families.

In this time of grief, we believe our community can come together and be united in support. Thank you in advance for your kind, compassionate, supportive words and deeds. We know how much it will mean to those who will receive them.

Am Yisrael Chai.

Hashkiveinu, Adonai Eloheinu, l’shalom, l’shalom

V’haamideinu, Malkeinu, l’chaim.

Ufros aleinu sukat sh’lomecha, Amen.

השכיבנו הי אלהנו לשלום, והעמידנו לחיים

ופרוס עלנו סוכת שלומך; אמן

Shelter us beneath Thy wings, O Adonai

Guard us from all harmful things, O Adonai

Keep us safe throughout the night, ‘til we wake with morning’s light

Teach us, God, wrong from right; Amen.
