Capital Camps is more than just an overnight camp. It is an investment in your child’s growth and development, and in strength of the collective Mid-Atlantic Jewish community. Families can trust that their children are cared for by exceptional staff, while at the same time encouraged to take calculated risks, try a new sport or activity in the comfort of a non judgemental and safe environment, and create memories that last well beyond the summer. We are committed to thoughtful decision making around campus enhancements, professional development, curriculum development and stewarding your dollars to maximize the camp experience for both campers and staff.

Application Fee
All application fees are refundable until October 12, 2024. After that time, they become non-refundable.
Application Fee Amounts:
Yalla: $350
1st Session, 2nd Session, CIT: $650
Full Summer: $1,300
Application Fee by Credit Card
Application fee charged to a debit or credit card are inclusive of administrative processing fees.
Fee payments in excess of the application fee that are charged to a debit or credit card will be charged an administrative processing fee.
Application Fee by Check
Your camper’s space is not reserved until a check is received for the application fee at our office.
Camp must be notified in writing for enrollment cancellation and session changes with the following understanding:
Prior to October 12, 2024: The application fee and all tuition payments are refundable for cancellations. Session changes will be processed at no charge.
Between October 12, 2024 and January 11, 2025: Payments in excess of the application fee are refundable for cancellations. Session changes will be processed at no charge.
Between January 11, 2025 and March 1, 2025: In addition to the forfeiture of the application fee, a $500 cancellation fee ($125 for Yalla) to cover programmatic and administrative costs incurred by Capital Camps will be assessed. A $200 processing fee will be charged for all session changes made. Additional non-refundable costs expended for trip reservations may be passed on to the family.
After March 1, 2025: No refunds will be made. A $500 processing fee will be charged for all session changes made.
The following is an important change to our policy for processing late tuition payments: Unpaid tuition due by the payment dates will be charged to the default credit card on account (which is typically the last card used to make a payment on your account) with the processing fee added. We encourage you to be mindful of the payment due dates (below), especially when scheduling payments with your bank’s bill pay service or mailing time required for check payments to be delivered.
Declined credit card payments are subject to additional late and rebilling fees.
Reminder: Timeline of Payment Due Dates:
Expenses for overnight camps do not qualify as a Child and Dependent Care Credit. Therefore, tax statements are not issued by Capital Camps for the purpose of tax return filing.
Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts do not cover overnight camp fees because overnight camps are not considered work-related expenses. Even if the camp separates the expense for the daytime portion and the overnight portion, the IRS does not allow reimbursement for overnight camps. Therefore, Capital Camps will not issue statements that separate the day from the overnight portion.
