Dates and Fees

Below you will find our Summer 2027 sessions.  We hope you join us at Capital Camps next summer!

Capital Camps is more than just an overnight camp. It is an investment in your child’s growth and development, and in strength of the collective Mid-Atlantic Jewish community. Families can trust that their children are cared for by exceptional staff, while at the same time encouraged to take calculated risks, try a new sport or activity in the comfort of a non judgemental and safe environment, and create memories that last well beyond the summer. We are committed to thoughtful decision making around campus enhancements, professional development, curriculum development and stewarding your dollars to maximize the camp experience for both campers and staff.

To inquire about availability, please email Ezra Suldan.

At Capital Camps & Retreat Center our priority is to provide our campers and staff with an incredible summer experience.  Our tuition fees reflect our all-inclusive rates, which makes this possible.  Our rates include all programmatic and trip fees, weekly laundry services, in-camp carnivals and special events, support from our incredible Community Care Team of professionals, complimentary pool and lake towel service, optional bus transportation offered from central locations serving our community as well as security personal and ongoing security updates.

Rates listed do not include trip spending money or medical expenses.

Yalla

Yalla campers, our first timers, experience all of the joys and adventures of Capital Camps with just a little extra: a higher staff to camper ratio and smaller groups.  These first-time campers participate in activities as a cohort to maximize relationship building and counselor care.

The Yalla program empowers campers to discover all of the possibilities that are part of the Capital Camps fabric. The intimacy and pace allows for experimentation and creativity. We inspire curiosity and facilitate friendship making within Yalla village and throughout the rest of camp.

Who is eligible? First-time overnight campers entering 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades.

The following is an important change to our policy for processing late tuition payments: Unpaid tuition due by the payment dates will be charged to the default credit card on account (which is typically the last card used to make a payment on your account) with the processing fee added. We encourage you to be mindful of the payment due dates (below), especially when scheduling payments with your bank’s bill pay service or mailing time required for check payments to be delivered.

Declined credit card payments are subject to additional late and rebilling fees.

Reminder: Timeline of Payment Due Dates:

January 12, 2027 – 50% of all additional fees in excess of the deposit are due

March 2, 2027 – Remaining balance of fees are due
For registrations that occur between March 1, 2025 and May 31, 2025, the application fee can be charged with no additional cost. The balance is due within 14 days of enrollment confirmation, which allows for a check payment to arrive.

Expenses for overnight camps do not qualify as a Child and Dependent Care Credit.  Therefore, tax statements are not issued by Capital Camps for the purpose of tax return filing.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts do not cover overnight camp fees because overnight camps are not considered work-related expenses. Even if the camp separates the expense for the daytime portion and the overnight portion, the IRS does not allow reimbursement for overnight camps. Therefore, Capital Camps will not issue statements that separate the day from the overnight portion.

For more information, check out IRS Publication 503, Child and Dependent Care Expenses. This publication is available at www.irs.gov or by calling 800-TAX-FORM (800-829-3676).
