Capital Camps & Retreat Center continues to closely monitor guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Camp Association, as well as our own Medical Committee, in order to create protocols and plans for Summer 2022 to be meaningful, fun, and safe for our camp community. Over the last 23 months, we have all witnessed the evolution of COVID and variants which have required changes to protocols and policies.
After consultation with our Medical Committee, Senior Staff, and Lay Leadership, CCRC is moving forward with a requirement for all campers and staff members to be Up To Date on their COVID-19 vaccination prior to the start of camp. According to the CDC, “Up To Date” means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible. CCRC will closely follow additional guidance from the CDC, ACA, and Medical Committee and will provide updates to the community as necessary and possible.
A vaccinated community will allow us to plan for the type of camp we both want and need. Our updated protocols aim to strike an appropriate balance between precautions, Jewish values, safety, and the enjoyment of being at Camp for our campers and staff. This will allow us to move forward towards a typical summer and come together as a community as often as possible.
We look forward to continued partnership with our camp parents as we move ahead and plan for Summer 2022.
