About Our Camp
Capital Camps was founded in 1987 and is an independent non-profit organization (501C). Our goals as an agency have not changed over the years. We are committed to informal Jewish education via a fun, meaningful and nurturing experience – with the long term goal of enhancing Jewish identity and therefore community vitality.
We offer four ‘village’ programs on our 267 acre facility - Benjamin, Reich, Kaufmann, and Macks Villages. Our goal is to offer Jewish camping to anyone who wishes to participate. To achieve this we operate an inclusive special needs program, and maintain a significant commitment to families unable to afford camp via our scholarship program. |

We are located in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania just over one hour from metropolitan Washington D.C., and Baltimore. We are an American Camp Association (ACA) accredited camp, a member agency of the JCC Association, and a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.
In 2002, the Washington D.C. and Baltimore communities joined together to undertake a massive multi-million dollar redevelopment of our facility to ensure we remain a first class camp. While buildings are important, we are about people. Our camp will always be an environment that challenges, nurtures and cares for children, staff and families. We are proud of our work and invite you to join our ‘family’.
